Prevention
School-Based Prevention
CVFC is licensed by
the New York State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse to
provide school and community-based substance abuse prevention
services to Clinton County. A wide range of school-based counseling
and education services are available for grades K-12, including
several science-based models such as Project Alert and Project
Toward No Drug Use.
Community-Based Prevention
CVFC offers
professional trainings for community groups.
Additional community-based programs are available to help
families decrease the use of substances among adolescents.
Furthermore, CVFC also offers summer programming sponsored by the
Office of Child and Family Services for youth who meet specific
criteria.
Intensive Family Support Program
The Intensive Family
Support Program provides case-management, intervention, and
assistance for youth at risk for out of home placement and their
families. Referrals are
made through the Clinton County PINS Diversion Committee.
A Step Ahead
A Step Ahead provides
after-school programming for the Plattsburgh City School District as
a part of the 21st Century Learning Center.
