Champlain Valley Family Center (CVFC) was awarded the funding announced by Governor Hochul to expand vocational rehabilitation services across New York State. We applied through the OASAS RFA ATL‑25008 and received our official award notification on February 10.
This award provides $350,000 per year for five years, allowing us to build a comprehensive vocational education and employment program for individuals in treatment and recovery across the North Country Economic Development Region. The funding will support two full‑time Vocational Education Counselors as well as a Business Coordinator, all focused on helping people gain the skills and confidence to enter or re‑enter the workforce.
A major strength of this initiative—and something we are particularly excited about—is our partnership with Ready4Real and Michelle Armani, who brings decades of experience as an educator, counselor, and workforce development leader in the North Country. Ready4Real has built a strong regional footprint working with over a dozen school districts, BOCES programs, post‑secondary institutions, and local employers. Their curriculum blends practical skill‑building, soft‑skill development, and credential opportunities with a supportive, human‑centered approach that aligns perfectly with CVFC’s mission.
Michelle’s leadership and Ready4Real’s proven model make this partnership truly special. They understand both the local labor market and the lived experiences of people working to rebuild their lives. Their ability to translate confidence, professionalism, and real‑world readiness into sustainable employment outcomes will be central to the success of this program.
At CVFC, we believe deeply that employment is a critical part of long‑term recovery. Work gives people structure, purpose, stability, and a sense of identity—all of which support sustained healing and wellness. This funding allows us to bring those opportunities directly to individuals across all seven counties of the North Country.
We’re grateful to be able to expand these services and proud to partner with Ready4Real and Michelle Armani to help more people move toward meaningful, supported employment and healthier futures.
